SUMMARY:April 2023 Chapter Meeting - Liquid Cooling
DESCRIPTION:As process-intensive computing applications grow\, data center operators are evaluating liquid cooling options. According to Omdia’s 2022 Data Center Thermal Management Market Analysis\, the liquid cooling market will top $3B by 2026\, with a 50% compound annual growth rate between now and then. Currently\, air-cooling effectively supports rack capacities up to 20kW. Newer generation CPUs and GPUs designed for high-performance compute and AI applications are pushing rack loads above 50kW. Liquid cooling leverages higher thermal transfer properties to support efficient and cost-effective cooling of these high-density racks. \nThere is a wide array of resources to help you understand the challenges\, opportunities\, and technical requirements that liquid cooling presents including white papers by the ASHARE TC9.9 Committee. This presentation is just one of those resources to help you decide how to apply and scale liquid cooling in the data centers of today and tomorrow. \nPresented by Kevin Gray \nRegister here

SUMMARY:YEA Event - Liquid Cooling: Why it’s Making Such a Splash in Data Centers
DESCRIPTION:As the server power density in data centers goes ever higher\, the demand for more effective server rack cooling goes up too. Liquid cooling appears to be a very viable solution. Here’s your chance to learn all about why liquid cooling works so well … and watch some soccer too! \nVertiv will provide a pre-match presentation at Providence Park. Your electronic game ticket will allow you in starting at 5pm. The liquid cooling presentation will follow at 5:30pm in the Community Room. After the presentation\, we will provide dinner\, drinks\, and an opportunity to watch the Portland Thorns from the Modelo Cantina 😊 Hope to see you there!
