President
Maddie is a mechanical engineer at PAE, a leader in sustainable design based right here in Portland, Oregon. Maddie believes that diversity, equity, and inclusion in the built environment leads to designs that are not only environmentally sustainable but also socially equitable and welcoming to all.

Cassie Kuwahara
Vice President, President Elect, Programs Chair, Golf Tournament Co-Chair
Cassie received her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Portland in 2013. After taking an elective HVAC design course her senior year, she decided to pursue a profession in the HVAC industry. Her current position is Engineering Sales at ACI Mechanical & HVAC Sales has provided new opportunities and learning experiences to help her knowledge of the HVAC industry grow. She joined the Oregon ASHRAE Chapter shortly after graduating from college and over the past couple of years she has become more involved within the chapter. With her new role as Vice President, she is working hard to plan chapter meetings and helping with other chapter operations. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her dogs, and getting out to enjoy nature (golfing, hiking, fishing, etc.). She recently welcomed her son, Theodore.

Ryan Pinckard
Secretary & Treasurer
Ryan has been involved with the HVAC & plumbing industry since 2012, currently focusing on business development at Columbia Hydronics. He is a graduate from the Charles H. Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon, where he also played goalie for the D2 Club Ice Hockey team. Ryan has been involved with the Oregon Chapter BOG since 2017, serving as Chapter Secretary and Membership Promotion Chair. He received the Lincoln Bouillon award from Society in 2019 for his efforts in membership promotion. In his downtime, Ryan enjoys watching hockey, participating in fantasy football, and attempting to be good at golf.

Elsa Harder
Research Promotion Chair, Oregon BOG
Elsa joined the Oregon Chapter in the spring of 2018 after graduating from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. The ACE Mentor Program of Portland planted the seed for working in the building industry, and during her final years of college, she found herself in OSU’s ASHRAE Student Branch and searching for jobs in mechanical contracting firms. Elsa now works as a mechanical designer for Southland Industries’ NW Division. Paying it forward, Elsa hopes to guide more young people to pursue careers related to the built environment by her involvement as a lead mentor for the ACE Mentor Program and the Student Activities Committee Chair for the Oregon ASHRAE Chapter. In her free time, Elsa enjoys listening to podcasts and light adventuring.

Devin Abellon, PE

Devin Abellon is the Director of Engineered Solutions at Pac West Sales in Portland, Oregon. He has over 30 years of experience in the HVAC and plumbing industries with a focus on high-performance and sustainable building design and construction. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara and is a registered professional engineer in California and Arizona. He has been an active member of ASHRAE at the chapter, regional and society levels and has served in various roles including Society Vice President, Chair of Technology Council, Region X Director and Regional Chair, Chair of the Membership Promotion Committee, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors DEI Advisory Subcommittee and Program/Handbook Subcommittee Chair for TC06.05: Radiant Heating and Cooling. He also serves as a Chapter Leadership Academy facilitator and Distinguished Lecturer. Outside of work, Devin enjoys playing guitar, hiking, and spending as much time as he can with his wife, two kids, two dogs, and two grandkids.
